The end of an era

Fri Nov 13, 2009, 3:31 PM
Hey hey,

the last journal I wrote was for christmas last year.... that's pretty sad. In any case my university career has pretty much come to an end. I still have some things to finish off but over all it's all pretty sweet.

I had my portfolio exhibition start a few nights back and I was lucky enough to win the award for most creative portfolio, which was totally wicked. I also picked up a runner up for best portfolio along with a mate of mine Nick Glaven. We lost to Luke Van Lathum, another mate, so we couldn't be more happy loosing to him. Both Luke and Nick made some wicked portfolios. Super talented dudes.

There is a reason why I don't write the journal thingys. I really don't know what else too say. lol. Thanks to all who have helped over the years. I've been hughly successful in my university career and I hope that it translates into the future.

Can't say that its finished, but its a start. The biggest part really is going to be putting in all the designs. So thats going to take a while to get done, but it will happen. But what what i got up there right now is better then nothing. Check it out and let me know what ya think. Cheers

No hospital please!

Sun Jul 6, 2008, 5:01 PM
Well last tuesday I had complications with the healing of my wound from my hernia operation therefore I went back into hospital and had to stay for 3 days. I am thankful to all the people that looked after me during my stay, considering some of the crap that they had to put up with they were lovely.

I don't wish to complain about my stay or anything so I wont get into it, but at the moment I have plastic tube sticking out of me. YAY! Probably the most horrifying thing I have seen done to me. I think that is why it is so scary looking to me, even though no one else thinks that way, cause it has been done to me and not to someone else. so anyway getting to bag taken out on friday at the exact same time as the wedding to which i am meant to be best man at. LOL On a roll here. Anyways, thats it from me, I'll see ya all laters.

CSS??

Wed Apr 23, 2008, 10:46 PM
okay, I have a question for all the Web Designers out there.

I can understand why CSS is great for text over HTML. A load more control. You can change practically everything about your text, and do all cool stuff with hovers and all that. However, CSS layout.. I don't get it. It seems to be just a touchy and just as much a pain in the ass as HTML, yet it seems everyone is jumping on the CSS band wagon. I just want to know why CSS layouts are better than HTML about it before i go sticking my thumb out to hitch the ride.

Cheers,

Karl.
